Bow down before The Pale Emperor!
It’s been awhile seen I shared with you a « Weekly music video », but I am going to fix this mistake! 😉
So here is a small video clip for this week with nothing less than the comeback of Sir Marilyn Manson himself!
Yes, indeed he is back and for our great pleasure! With albums « The Golden Age of Grotesque » and « Eat me, drink me » relatively underwhelming with only few songs getting out of the batch, he managed to put his head out of the water with « The high end of low ». « Born villain » in 2012 marked clearly his resurrection to finally three years later lead to « The Pale Emperor », an album beyond reproach, without mistake and reminding me the great era of the trilogy « Antichrist superstar », « Mechanical animals » and « Holy wood ».
This new LP is rock, melancholic, sick, sad, in summary a pearl 😉 We don’t know where to look with all those amazing tracks like « Killing Strangers », « Depp six », « Third day of a seven day binge », « Worship my wreck » (one of my favorite 🙂 ) or even « Slaves only dreams to be king ».

« Weekly music video » post with the band Hurt and both songs Rapture and House Carpenter
Here we go again!!!
It’s already the end of the week so let’s go for another « weekly music video » post!
The choice is really significant. The goal of those kinds of post is to introduce you a band that I like to listen, allowing me to feel something special, and preferably realized a video which worth the shoot.
This time, we are going to see a video clip from the band Hurt. Pretty much unknown, whether in Europe or in United-States.
It was created in 2000, but it’s only in 2006 that I heard about them for the first time. It was thanks to an advertising mail from a label that I forgot the name.
It was very brief « a new band, their first album is going to be available soon, here you can see the first video clip ». The song was Rapture and was the first single from their first album named Vol.1.
I was so surprised and impressed, firstly by the style. This band had a Grunge sound that I didn’t heard for a while. There was a sadness, and a violent almost tangible and mixed together in the J. Loren Wince voice (lead singer, singer, guitarist and violinist in the band. Yes, you read well, there is violin, not just to seem trendy).
The second point which stricken me from this video clip was the design. No band members on the screen, everything was an animation short movie like if everything was in paper, but with style and poetry.
Unfortunately, I didn’t managed to find this famous video on Youtube.
So, that’s why I have chosen another song of their debut album, House Carpenter. Just as skinned alive as Rapture song, and with the same kind of design. Really beautiful song and video clip.
I advise you to wait well the end of the clip, even after the black screen.
This band as a huge potential, unluckily, like fore a lot of gifted bands, they don’t managed to reach the notoriety they deserve, and they stay in the shadow. Only a few of people know them, despite already six albums, they did not managed to find the light, but they really deserved it believe me!
(Even if they never succeed to achieve the level of the first album with the five others)
So, if you like the song, the sound, the spirit of their lyrics, don’t hesitate and buy their amazing albums! They truly worth it 😉

Article « vidéo de la semaine » « review musique » pour The Sound Of Animals Fighting, car ils le méritent :)
Nouvel article vidéo pour ce début de mois de Mai, et cet article va être un peu différent car il sera autant un article « vidéo de la semaine » qu’un article « review musicale ».
Oui, oui, deux en un 😉 Car je vais vous parler d’un groupe, et pas des moindres, The Sound Of Animals Fighting !!!
Ce groupe n’est autre qu’un All Star Band ! Il regroupe des membres des plus grands groupes Americain d’emo-rock, art rock, experimental, post-hardcore.
La vidéo qui suit est tirée du dernier album.
Fondé par Rich Balling (ex-RX Bandits) en 2004, il comprend les membres des groupes comme RX-bandits, Finch, Circa Survive, Atreyu, The Hippos, The Autumns, Chiodos, Sunn O))), Good old war. Et oui, rien que ça.
Avec au micro Anthony Green (Circa Survive, ex-new-Saosin), Rich Balling (ex-Rx Bandits), Craig Owens (Chiodos, ex-DRUGS, ex-Cinematic sunrise, Ex-Iles&Glaciers), Keith Goodwin (Good old war, ex-Days Away) et Matt Embree (Rx Bandits).
Ce groupe fait rêver non ? Tant de talents dans le même groupe pour un projet exceptionnel, mélangeant différentes influences venant de tous les groupes, tout en conservant un anonymat (en tout cas dans les premiers temps) en évitant d’utiliser leur image comme voix promotionnel. Ils se sont masqué sur les artworks des CD et ont pris des noms d’animaux (the sound of animals fighting vous comprenez le truc ? 😉 ). Des noms comme The Skunk ou encore The Walrus.
Ils ont créé trois albums entre 2004 et 2008 avec quatre uniques concerts en 2007 (qui ont été retranscrit sur un DVD (We must become the change we want to see)). 7 ans plus tard (à savoir en 2014) ils ont réalisés 7 shows de plus, des concerts pour le moins exceptionnels croyez moi (oui j’ai le DVD et j’en ai usé et abusé lol).
Leurs concerts retranscrits sur le DVD sont époustouflants tant par le mélange de style, d’art différents et de créativité. Ils font intervenir des danseurs contemporains, des peintres (réalisant des oeuvres en direct au fur et à mesure du concert), des vidéos sont projetées en arrière plan, Rich Balling vient même ajouter un côté spoken word en lisant une de ses œuvres littéraire en musique.
La puissance des chanteurs comme Craig Owens et Anthony Green se marient parfaitement avec la douceur des voix de Matt Embree et de Keith Goodwin.
Ce groupe est plus ou moins difficile à appréhender au cours des premières écoutes, chaque album est une pièce unique qu’il faut écouter d’une traite, voilà pourquoi il faut se laisser du temps pour appréhender leur création. Mais au bout du compte ce fut une révélation et représente pour moi une source d’inspiration et un exemple de créativité dont je ne me lasse pas 🙂 Personnellement je rêverais de pouvoir collaborer de la même manière avec des gens aussi passionnée sur différents projets 🙂
The SOAF est phénoménale, et même si le lineup évolue depuis la création, certain membres clefs demeurent (Anthony green, rx bandits entre autre), je serais le premier à sauter sur un nouvel album ou une place de concert (là ce serait le pied musical total :p).
Je conseil sans hésiter ce groupe hors du commun et je leur donne une note générale de 18/20 car ils le méritent amplement.
Il est maintenant temps d’apprécier leur musique par vous-même tout au long des vidéos que j’ai mises sur cet article.

My first English article, « Weekly music video » with Black Light Burns
So, let’s start with English articles!
And what could be better for a beginning than a “weekly music video”;)
The choice has not be so easy, I listen so many band, with a lot of different style. Listening more than a hundreds of band and singer does not ease my way to choose. The decision was complicated but I managed to find the good candidate.
However, don’t be too sad are angry again me, there will be more weeks (I hope :p), so I will have a lot of possibilities to published a lot of different band video clip. There will be something for ears of everyone 😉
This week (drumroll), I have chosen Black light Burns!!!!
Yeah, Mr. Wes Borland’s band!
This band was a real personal revelation, an amazing discover (on Jonathan Davis’s Myspace, yes, you read well, Korn’s singer). After a first incredible album “Cruel melody”, a CD/DVD album of face B and covers, and a concept album “Lotus Island” (realized like an original soundtrack of a movie that does not exit lol but a really good album anyway), they came back with a second delivery named « The moment you realize you’re going to fall », and It was a fucking blast my friends!!!
This second dose is far beyond the first album. I could speak hours about this band that’s why I will publish a full article about this tremendous band and his outstanding front man Wes Borland! (I really don’t know when I will publish this article… one day :p)
In brief, for this article we are going to focus on the first era of this band, i.e., the first album « Cruel Melody » (an upcoming « weekly music video » will deal with the second era, the album “The moment you realize you’re going to fall”).
On of a most amazing song of the first album is « Lie », with a Nine inch nails’s influence (Danny Lohner signature…), this song is especially dark, offer a really good tempo, with a crazy mesmerizing sound that obliged you to headbang and sing in the same time!
That’s why I have chosen this one for a first “weekly music video”!
An explosive song, whose I will never get bored!
